Colleen Caffrey joined Mt Scott this year as the school’s new business manager. She is an experienced nonprofit administrator, who worked for many years in support of a major disability rights advocacy organization in Atlanta. Colleen enjoys wearing an array of hats under the common theme of promoting healthy and vibrant living powered by lifelong learning and community connection.
A musician, teacher and coach, Colleen has taught traditional West African drumming to school kids and adult hobbyists, facilitated drum circles in assisted living facilities, and guided groups in a rhythm and movement-based learning process she describes as “meditation without the sitting still.” She is an active volunteer with Rock and Roll Camp for Girls (and previously the Portland-inspired Girls Rock Camp - ATL in Atlanta).
Colleen recently moved to Portland to be closer to water, trees, and her two-year old nephew. She is originally from New York and holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Cornell University.
