D’Arcy graduated from Portland State University with a Master’s in Teaching. She taught science for the past two years as a long-term substitute and student teacher. Prior to teaching, D’Arcy spent two decades in emergency medicine and healthcare. After working with such a diverse population in the Emergency Department, many of whom were adolescents and children, D’Arcy knew she was meant to become a teacher.
She has experience working with people from all walks of life and looks forward to building great relationships with the students and staff at Mt. Scott. D’Arcy has always had a deep fascination and passion for science. She hopes this excitement will help inspire her students’ learning and interest in this area.
When not at work D’Arcy is with her amazing family, including her husband Matt, daughter Samantha, son Nolan and their 3-year-old Labradoodle, Benny. She loves cooking, hiking, camping and spending time outdoors with her family. She is looking forward to a new school year and can’t wait for this next adventure!
