Our Mission
Mt. Scott Learning Center exists to provide an educational setting tailored to the special needs of students who struggle to fulfill their potential in the traditional school environment.
Our Vision
We envision a learning community where every student feels welcomed, accepted, respected, and supported as they explore their own unique path to graduation and a happy, successful life after high school.
Our Equity Statement
Mt. Scott Learning Center is comprised of people of all ages, from all walks of life, working side-by-side to strengthen our school community. Together, we strive to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, age, cultural background, ethnicity, faith, gender, gender expression, gender identity, ideology, income, national origin, race or sexual orientation has the opportunity to reach their full potential with dignity.
Our Core Values
Healthy. Citizens. Prepared. Scholars.
These four concepts represent Mt. Scott Learning Center’s Core Values and speak to our mission of holistically developing students as both learners and individuals. Our Core Values are central to the spirit of Mt. Scott and are embedded in every aspect of the academic and social program. They are living concepts that we practice, nourish, explore, and reflect on each day so that we can model the community that we want to see in the world.
We are also guided by Justice, Equity, Representation, and Community. We believe our focus on relationships and restorative justice will empower our students to live healthy, successful lives as black, brown, native, white, queer, or neurodiverse young adults of all genders in today’s America.
