Mt. Scott hosts neighborhood tree planting event

Mt. Scott Learning Center was excited and honored to host Friends of Trees’ Creston-Kenilworth/Foster-Powell/Reed/Mt. Scott-Arleta neighborhood-wide tree planting event on Saturday, January 16th.

Mt. Scott served as the “base camp” for approximately 200 volunteers that met at the school, sorted into planting crews, and planted 215 trees around the neighborhoods. The volunteers all returned to Mt. Scott for a potluck lunch.

Four cedar trees were also donated to Mt. Scott and planted in the front of the school.
