MSLC honors 2020 graduates at first-ever virtual ceremony

Mt. Scott Learning Center (MSLC) honored another outstanding group of high school graduates in July 2020 with our school’s first-ever virtual graduation ceremony.

Although the COVID-19 pandemic forced all schools to cancel their normal in-person graduation ceremonies, MSLC staff worked hard to replicate the highly poignant and reflective graduation celebration that has become a hallmark of our school model.

Maintaining the required social distancing measures, our 2020 graduates gathered at the school with MSLC staff on July 9 to celebrate their achievement and conduct three important elements of our traditional graduation ceremony: the procession of graduates, the awarding of diplomas, and the official announcement of the graduating class of 2020.

These activities were videotaped and combined with other essential content prepared for our originally scheduled graduation ceremony, including our Graduation Reflections video and Graduate Spotlights slide show. The finished product was a full-length 50-minute virtual graduation program shared with graduates and their families on July 27.
