Michael Duffer
Michael Duffer has taught Language Arts for several years, getting his start in the New York City public school system. He has been with Mt. Scott now for the past few years. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s in English Education from Hunter College in New York.
His curriculum continues to stress a performance-based approach to assessment as an alternative to high-stakes testing. He believes a relevant and rigorous curriculum based in questioning and discussion between teachers and students, and among students themselves, is the best approach to preparing students for post-secondary education. In addition to teaching, he enjoys music, movies, cycling, and reading literature and philosophy.
