Emily Class
Emily Class is new to the Mt. Scott team, but has been in Portland alternative education settings since 2015. She is excited to teach Social Studies through a social lens by exploring the experiences of average people, particularly women and underrepresented groups, living through important historical events.
Emily has a Bachelor of Arts in History, with a minor in English, from Willamette University and a Master of Arts in Teaching with dual endorsements in English and Social Studies from Concordia University. She believes that all students can reach their educational goals with the support and guidance of caring educators who build relationships through trauma informed practice, a focus on equity and restorative justice.
In her spare time Emily can be found playing with her rescue dog Marvin, planning her next big trip, spending time with friends and family, or watching the latest documentary.
